Have you ever been in a state where you look at yourself and feel like you’ve lost? Are the only things you think about negative thoughts? Truth is, what we feed our mind is what it brings out. If you feed your mind to see only good things, then everything becomes good, if we feed it otherwise; then it exhibit what we tell it.
Our mind is like a baby that is being fed. If your baby watches violent things all the time, then he/she becomes violent at any slight provocation, if he learns positive words from his guardians, he lives a life of positivity.
Read along with me as I discuss what positive thinking is and how we can become a positive thinker.
Positive thinking is the practice of focusing on the good in any given situation. It means making the most of potential obstacles, trying to see the best in other people, and viewing yourself and your abilities in a positive light.
A positive thinker does not ignore his reality or make light of his problems, he or she simply approaches the good and the bad in life with the expectation that things will go well.
He finds means to look for solutions and he expect to find them. He turns his potential obstacles into plain grounds, A positive thinker finds the benefits or the bright side of his challenges and creates rainbow out of it.
You don’t ignore problems, instead of complaining about them or letting them overpower you, you actively look for ways to overcome them. You take responsibility for your life on a consistent basis because you understand you are in control of how your life progresses.

How To Practice Positive Thinking
- Erase the negative energy. Before you put positive thinking into practice, look for any negative thoughts that may be running through your mind. When you notice a negative thought, try to stop it and shift your focus to the positive. Train yourself to have a positive attitude for all situations.
- Be open to humor. Allow yourself to smile and laugh often, make light of situations around you especially during difficult times, doing this can help you ease off stress.
- Surround yourself with positive people. Make sure that those in your life are positive, supportive people you can depend on to give helpful advice and feedback. Surrounding yourself with negative people may increase your stress level and make you doubt your ability to manage stress in healthy ways.
- Practice positive self talk (affirmations). Start your day by always declaring positivity into it. Words like, “I’m a queen, a king, an achiever, an overcomer, I’m a blessing, I shine bright at work, etcetera,” can make your day light, even when you feel overwhelmed, keep saying the affirmations.
Don’t say anything to yourself that you wouldn’t say to anyone else. Be gentle and encouraging with yourself. If a negative thought enters your mind, evaluate it rationally and respond with affirmations of what is good about you. Think and be grateful about things you’re thankful for in your life.
In conclusion, once you start developing a more positive outlook, you are willing to try new things. You begin to have higher self-esteem, and love to have a good laugh.
