What comes to your mind when you hear the word Friendzone??? What is your immediate response to the question of whether you're in the Friendzone or not? Well, the word in its entirety seems like bad news or should I say it's heartbreaking to hear the words. Funny thing is, we all signed up for the friend zone one way or the other. And we ought to remain there without any feeling of heart break or disappointment. Okay let's stop for a moment and think... just follow me as we journey together... The question if who to marry has long been answered by many philisophers or dare I say "smart" and "intelligent" people. They say, marry your friend! Right? So why then are we disappointed when we're in the Friendzone? The friendzone isn't there for people who have been disappointed in love or who fail to make their crushes materialise into full blown out awesome romance! The friendzone is a boundary set by individuals, to properly define their friendships, to ensure respect between the two parties and to avoid (as we call it in Nigeria) 'see finish'.... So if you're in the Friendzone, understand what your friend wants. He/she has the right to choose friends and set boundaries. Respect your friend ... And if you're not comfortable in the Friendzone... Well, that's a story for another day!
